So, you’ve got a world-class corporate culture. It’s been created over time, and it actually provides your organization with a competitive advantage.
One thing that that culture probably hasn’t been able to do though, is get the folks from your AP department to hang out with folks from your IT department. Despite things like Star Wars action figures and comic book discussions, they really actually do have some very concrete reasons for this gap that exists between them.
Your AP department is concerned about getting bills paid on time. Your IT department is concerned with making sure that that network is optimized and working properly. So, having systems in place to ensure costs can be allocated, distributed, and approved by the appropriate personnel, can help bridge the gap between IT and AP. And while they still might not hang out at the annual Christmas party, you’ll at least have a network that is cost allocated and optimized all at the same time.
